So this just showed up on my Facebook feed. Yeah. The Republican National Committee is urging people to vote REPUBLICAN by mail. Click on it, and it will start walking you through the steps needed — plus who knows what else it is doing.
Trump is sabotaging the Post Office. He’s screaming from the rooftops that voting by mail will cause massive voting fraud. He says in-person voting is the only legitimate way to vote even as he has requested absentee ballots for himself.
He’s also warning he will be sending every kind of law enforcement he can to the polls to make sure only ‘real’ voters vote.
At a guess, there’s at least two things going on here.
One is that Trump and the GOP will try to disrupt voting in person in the cities, where the blue votes are. Intimidation at the polls, purging the rolls, shutting down polling places in blue districts, restrictive voter ID requirements. You know they will. (If you haven’t checked lately to see if you are registered, you might want to do so.)
Two, sabotaging the Post Office — targeting the cities where the blue votes are. Has anyone checked to see if there’s a pattern where mail service is being selectively crippled so that Red votes out in the heartland stand a better chance of getting through than Blue ones from the ‘Democrat’ cities? Or in Swing States?
Remember Project REDMAP? That was the computer software that let the GOP draw voting districts with surgical precision to maximize red votes. Funny thing about that — do you think it might also tell them where to suppress voting most effectively?
The Democratic Convention spent a lot of time pleading with people to vote. Want to bet the Republican Convention will spend a lot of time claiming Democrats are going to steal the election? Either way, Trump and the GOP are going to do everything they can to create so much chaos, they will be able to claim whatever they want no matter what happens.
Totally shameless. They don’t even try to hide it any more.
