“TAKE DOWN THE RULE!” We’re “scoring” this vote on unconstitutional war in Yemen

Sometime this afternoon, the House is expected to vote on the rule for consideration of H.R. 6784, the “Manage our Wolves Act.” The rule for consideration of H.R. 6784 approved by Paul Ryan’s House Rules Committee last night would “de-privilege” H.Con.Res. 138, the Khanna-Massie-Smith-Jones-Pocan Yemen War Powers Resolution to force a clean vote to end unconstitutional U.S. participation in the Saudi regime’s war-blockade-famine-genocide in Yemen. If H.Con.Res. 138 were “de-privileged,” it would mean that we would lose the guaranteed floor vote to end unconstitutional war that Congress promised us when it passed the War Powers Resolution over President Nixon’s veto in 1973.

That’s why we have to “take down the rule.” To get a clean vote on our bill to end the Yemen war, we have to defeat the rule on the “Manage our Wolves Act.” The sea is behind us and Paul Ryan’s minions are in front.

Call your Rep. now and press them to say publicly that they will vote no on the rule. If we prove to Paul Ryan that we have 218 votes to take down his rule, Paul Ryan will withdraw his rule and we will get a clean vote on our bill to end the Yemen war.

Call your Rep. now at 202-225-3121.

If your Rep. is a Republican, you can say something like:

“I urge you to VOTE NO ON THE RULE for consideration of H.R. 6784, the “Manage our Wolves Act.” The rule for consideration of H.R. 6784 would “de-privilege” H.Con.Res. 138, the Khanna-Massie-Smith-Jones-Pocan Yemen War Powers Resolution to force a clean vote to end unconstitutional U.S. participation in the Saudi regime’s war, blockade, famine, and genocide in Yemen. Freedom Works is calling for a no vote on the rule. I urge you to sign the Massie-Gabbard-Jones-Pocan letter in opposition to the rule. I urge you to state publicly that you will vote no on the rule. I want to know how Rep. ___ intends to vote.”

If your Rep. is a Democrat, you can say something like:

“I urge you to VOTE NO ON THE RULE for consideration of H.R. 6784, the “Manage our Wolves Act.” The rule for consideration of H.R. 6784 would “de-privilege” H.Con.Res. 138, the Khanna-Massie-Smith-Jones-Pocan Yemen War Powers Resolution to force a clean vote to end unconstitutional U.S. participation in the Saudi regime’s war, blockade, famine, and genocide in Yemen. Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi opposes the rule. I urge you to state publicly that you will vote no on the rule. I want to know how Rep. ___ intends to vote.”

If you find out how your Rep. intends to vote, please post that information below in the comments.
